The goal of the Oregon Green School Association is to provide schools with the tools to adopt effective waste reduction practices and to recognize those schools that have successful achieved them. Included on the site are lists of participating green schools and local OGSA coordinators. One of the principal information resource links is to the Oregon Green Schools Tools developed by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (described below). |

The overall goal of this manual is to help schools to become resource efficient with respect to energy, materials and water with a strong focus provided on waste reduction, reuse and recycling. A five-step process is described based on developing involvement and education, conducting assessments and waste audits, careful planning, tracking results and integrating effective resource efficiency practices into the school infrastructure and normal operating procedures. This green school development process is supported with appropriate worksheets and additional information resources |
